Mission conferences are a standard annual event in many evangelical churches in the USA, but they are unheard of in contemporary Ukrainian Christian culture. Although they are desperately needed to help recruit Ukrainian missionaries and raise support for their ministries, the idea is new and unusual.

This is why we get so excited every time we hold a missions conference in Ukraine. Our three-day conferences are usually the first they have ever seen! These events serve as an inspiration and a model for conferences to come. The response has been so good that we are trying to hold a region-wide conference in each of the 25 provinces of Ukraine.

Sadly, a missions conference planned for last spring was postponed due to lack of funds. (Conferences are “special projects” and not in our regular budget.)  We have been invited to conduct a “Missions Awareness Conference” in Chernivtsi province this fall – this would be a first for the churches there.
