Happy New Year Dear Friends!
As we look back over 2008 we are sincerely grateful to the Lord and to you. You have made a difference in spreading God’s kingdom in Eastern Europe.
As we look at 2009 we see no shortage of ministry opportunities. The doors are finally opening wide after nearly three years of knocking.
We are continuing to teach at Kiev Theological Seminary (KTS) full time and at other Bible colleges as time allows. But our greatest desire is to see God’s kingdom expand by energizing Ukrainians to serve as missionaries – this ministry is just beginning.
Our next Great Commission Conference will be held on February 6th through 8th.
Our plans for a “Fast Track” summer missionary training course are coming together.
Our new department of World Missions at KTS is growing.
Our special training session on Muslim Ministry is ready for this March
Planning for our fourth Great Commission Conference is under way
How ironic that these opportunities have come at a time when we are all in a financial slump.
Just to give you an idea of our ministry needs:
– We have hired a Ukrainian to partner to help with the expanding teaching work here. We are covering part of his salary until the remaining $400 per month is pledged.
– Our housing costs in Kiev went up another 10% last November.
– The Great Commission Conference in February (see above) was a happy surprise. It was by their invitation and it promises to reach many more with the message, but we still lack $2,500 for this conference.
– We are planning to hold another conference in Dniperpetrpovsk later this year (late spring or early fall) but will need a special donation of $5,2000. This region holds great promise of producing many Ukrainian missionaries.
As Cheri and I cut back on personal expenses and give more to this ministry we are asking if you can do the same. No doubt you are getting plenty of additional requests at the same as time you are facing your own financial issues.
Please pray about how the Lord would have you partner with us. Any extra amount would be appreciated.
Thank you
Rich and Cheri
