Of the 18 candidates, only two will go on to the second round of the presidential election. They are opposition leader Victor Yanukovych and Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

 Here are the official results after counting 80% of the votes:

Yanukovych 35.7%
Tymoshenko 24.7%
