Dear Faithful Friend,
Cheri and I are praying for you and all of our ministry partners by name. May the Lord keep you safe and healthy in these troubling times. May He protect you from shortages and may He meet all your needs.
At the risk of seeming overly simplistic, I encourage you to hang on to these three truths with us:
The Lord saw this event coming.
The Lord cares for us and has a plan.
The Lord knows how this story will end.
Like many of you, Cheri and I are working from home now. I’m counselling students and co-workers via email and Skype, preparing classes and making new videos. Thankfully, the Lord gave us a small studio and I will be able to easily produce instructional videos in Russian from here. Cheri continues to teach and mentor internationals via email and will soon be teaching her lessons via internet. As long as we’re healthy we should be able to continue our ministries.
Kyiv Theological Seminary has closed its doors to public meetings and is gearing up to train young pastors, teachers and missionaries exclusively online. I’m preparing for my next class by putting more teaching videos online and improving my distance learning skills.
Artur, our first KTS missions graduate, who has been serving in China for the past eight years, returned to Ukraine ahead of the worst part of the epidemic. By God’s grace he was outside of China when the Chinese government stopped all travel. We were able to spend some quality time together last February and serve the Lord together in eastern Ukraine.
I know that you’re concerned for us, but we’re also concerned for you. Please write to tell us how you are doing. Share how this emergency has affected your life and how it’s going.
Love,
Rich and Cheri
